Air Conditioning
996 Boxster
Griffiths designs and supplies various Porsche air conditioning components, such as ac, a/c, barrier hoses, clutches, compressors, condensers, driers, expansion valves, evaporators, fan motors, R134a refrigerant upgrades and updates, remanufactured new Nippondenso compressors, vents and more
for Porsche 996 and Boxster models.
Driers
The receiver drier is critical component to your a/c system. The drier
is as important as your oil filter is to your engine. It consists of a
steel tank, a filter, desiccant bag (drying agent) and a side mounted site
glass. Driers should be replaced whenever: (a) your system has lost its
refrigerant and you are unsure of its age, (b) the system is suspect to
excessive moisture, (c) you are changing over to an alternate refrigerant
or incompatible refrigerant oils, or (d) your compressor seized or locked
up. The drier can be found typically attached to the back side of the driver's
side front wheel well. Griffiths stocks OEM style Kuehl brand driers with the correct desiccant for R134 refrigerants.
The Kuehl 996 Boxster High Performance Evaporator
Above is our new Kuehl 996 Boxster Evaporator. This new direct replacement evaporator makes replacement cost affordable and easy.
Our Kuehl evaporators come complete with a R134a compatible expansion valve attached, and include new o-rings.
Expansion Valves
The 996 and Boxster use an "H" valve block design. Expansion valves
should be replaced when either, (i) diagnostics have confirmed valve failure
or leakage, or (ii) your compressor seized or locked up. Griffiths supplies new expansion valves with o-rings.
